“Il mondo è infinito” è un progetto a lungo termine in collaborazione con mia mamma Gloriana e mia nonna Nella.

L’idea è nata dal desiderio di voler raccontare, attraverso la fotografia, il modo in cui la malattia di mia nonna, Alzheimer diagnosticato un anno fa, ha cambiato la quotidianità della nostra famiglia.

Il racconto è focalizzato non sulla malattia ma sugli effetti che ha avuto su mia madre e su di me, sull’inversione dei ruoli che si sono venuti a creare, dove Gloriana non è più figlia ma madre di sua madre, sull’evanescenza, sul trascorrere del tempo. 

“Il mondo è infinito” è una delle frasi che ha sempre ripetuto mia nonna nell’arco degli anni.

“The world is infinite” is a long-term project in collaboration with my mother Gloriana and my grandmother Nella.

The idea was born from the desire to tell, through photography, how my grandmother’s disease, Alzheimer’s diagnosed a year ago, has changed the everyday life of our family.

The story focuses not on the disease but on the effects it had on my mother and on me, on the reversal of the roles that came to be created, where Gloriana is no longer the daughter but the mother of her mother, on the evanescence, on the passage of time.

“The world is infinite” is one of the phrases my grandmother used to say over the years.
