Circa 2 anni fa ci siamo interessate alla questione della chiusura repentina dei locali sul territorio torinese.

Quindi, abbiamo deciso di entrare in ogni locale in questione per constatare lo stato attuale di abbandono presente in quest’ultimi.

Oltre a scattare fotografie, abbiamo raccolto alcuni oggetti trovati all’interno, come volantini di serate oppure pezzi di muro scrostati, segnati dal passare del tempo che denota la fine di un’epoca.

Tra le altre cose, all’interno di quelli che sembravano essere i relitti fatiscenti di locali una volta ricchi di vita, erano stati realizzati degli scatti e dei video poi caricati online delle serate. Sgranati ed eccentrici, i video includevano personaggi che caratterizzavano l’atmosfera di quei luoghi, e attraverso fotografie di archivio si percepisce l’afflusso di persone che attirava la Torino di una decina di anni fa.

Mentre guardavamo le immagini non potevamo non notare una coincidenza visiva tra le due situazioni dalla natura puramente estetica e temporale di questo accostamento.

About 2 years ago we were interested in the issue of the sudden closure of the premises on the territory of Turin.

So we decided to go into each of the premises in question to see the current state of neglect.

In addition to taking photographs, we collected some objects found inside, such as evening flyers or scraped wall pieces, marked by the passage of time that denotes the end of an era.

Among other things, inside what seemed to be the decaying wreckage of once-living clubs, shots and videos of the evenings were taken and uploaded online. Gripped and eccentric, the videos included characters that characterized the atmosphere of those places, and through archival photographs you can sense the influx of people that attracted Turin a decade ago.

As we looked at the images we could not help but notice a visual coincidence between the two situations of purely aesthetic and temporal nature of this juxtaposition.
